BOSTON, MA, November 3, 2000--State Street Research & Management Company promoted Alex G. Fedoroff and Thomas J. Coleman to Senior Vice President in the firm's Institutional Group. The announcement was made by Christopher C. Abbott, Executive Vice President, and Head of Institutional Marketing and Client Service Group.

Fedoroff joined State Street Research's Institutional Marketing and Client Service Group in 1991, and is currently responsible for providing client service and communication to many of the firm's large corporate clients. Prior to State Street Research, Coleman was an account manager at MetLife Investment Management Corporation and, before that, was a portfolio manager and fixed income analyst with Ark Asset Management. He has an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BS from Syracuse University.

"Promoting Alex and Tom acknowledges their talents in the client service and product management and their innate ability to effectively manage the Institutional business," stated Abbott in the announcement. "Both men are dedicated team leaders and crucial to the firm's growth in recent years."

State Street Research & Management Company, with a money management history dating back to 1924, is one of the nation's first investment management organizations.
