STATE STREET RESEARCH HEAD OF INVESTMENT SERVICES NAMED TO LEAD BOSTON CLASS OF 2002



BOSTON, MA, September 6, 2001-State Street Research is pleased to announcethat Kevin Wilkins, Executive Vice President, Head of Investment Services,has been offered admission to the National Conference for Community andJustice (NCCJ) LeadBoston Class of 2002.

LeadBoston is a ten-month leadership development program that trainsleaders from every professional sector in understanding and managingbusiness priorities as they relate to civic leadership. Each year, 35 to 40men and women from a broad range of professions and backgrounds in theGreater Boston area are selected to participate.

The selection committee-civic leaders, LeadBoston alumni and NCCJ board members-looks for candidates who have proven leadership in a civic or work environment, adesire to better understand diversity issues and the complex socio-economicfabric of Boston and have high standards of professional and personalintegrity.

The NCCJ, founded in 1927, is one of the nation's leading nonprofit,non-sectarian human relations organizations. The Greater Boston Region ofNCCJ, founded in 1943, is one of 65 local chapters nationwide. NCCJ'sLeadBoston is the city's premier civic leadership development program.Since 1991, the program has bridged racial, religious, ethnic, gender andclass lines to foster a more diverse, inclusive and informed civicleadership. Over 400 corporate and civic leaders have benefited from NCCJ'sLeadBoston's training experience.
